UNDER DUMBO

37 Bridge Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201

ABOUT:

Originally built in 1882, the designers at 37 Bridge decided to hold true to the building’s raw essence. Once home to the innovative Kirkman & Son Soap Company, the original steel silos from the factory have been preserved. The exterior features a red brick façade with large windows and black colonial style window grilles. UNDER DUMBO is a multi-level basement designated for film/production purposes.

It is located on the border of Dumbo and Vinegar Hill putting it in the hiatus zone. A freight elevator is accessible through the main entrance. Tumbled brick walls & columns, exposed pipelines, room-spanning duct work and polished cement floors are intrinsic to the industrial architecture of the basement. The kitchen prep area is visible through a floor to ceiling glass wall with rustic wooden grilles. The space totals 6,000 square feet with 8-foot-high ceilings on the main level and 16-foot-high ceilings on the lower level. Discover why DUMBO is known as the “Walled City” with its warehouse lined waterfronts and cobblestone streets.
